To those of you that are still here after nearly four years of writing, thank you.
Time is our most precious asset and I’m honored that you would share some of yours with me.
I sometimes don’t know how to say why I’ve found such a refuge in releasing these thoughts here each day, but I came across a quote today that I hope can give a glimpse into the heart of these entries and everything Let the Music Play is, has become, and is becoming to encourage you in the journey of your music.
May these words marinade into your bones and give you, along with your crazy dreams and ideas, hope and rest.
As far as I can tell, it’s still day one…Ashton.
“โฆI stand among you as one who offers a small message of hope, that first, there are always people who dare to seek on the margin of society, who are not dependent on social acceptance, not dependent on social routine, and prefer a kind of free-floating existence under a state of risk. And among these people, if they are faithful to their own calling, to their own vocation, and to their own message from God, communication on the deepest level is possible. And the deepest level of communication is not communication, but communion. It is wordless. It is beyond words, and it is beyond speech and beyond concept.”
