1) What are you saying to the world?
2) What is the world saying back to you?
To answer these two questions, we must realize two truths:
1) To answer these questions will require awareness and vulnerability.
2) Every day is an art show.
The good news is that the perfect script, the only one right move, and the perfect swipe of the paintbrush is a misnomer…it simply doesn’t exist within the expression of whatever your craft may be. As the moments change, so will your art.
So when you’re foot frozen, handcuffed, and or tongue tied because of the fear of what’s on the other side of a particular move, statement, or stroke of the brush – free yourself in this simple but hard to swallow statement: be ok with what will be and mute the nervous whispers of what could be.
Just keep in mind two non-negotiables: Be human and make it yours.
More often than not, when you’re heart is right fear tends to fizzle and you’re left with the art you hoped for and not what you were afraid of creating.
