When you stay curious you waltz on both sides of the line of satisfaction.
Wonder takes your feet across the line and wonder brings your feet back across again….only to repeat in the next stanza.
New flavor.
New sights.
New sounds.
New joy.
And constant ‘aha’.
This is why you stay curious.
Maya Angelou would have turned 88 today.
Many of her words often, still, speak to me.
Here’s some of them I have cherished the most.
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”
“There’s nothing quite so tragic as a young cynic, because it means the person has gone from knowing nothing to believing nothing.”
“Life loves the liver of it.”
“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”
My readings this year have renewed my passion for seeing the unseen, finding out what has made the difference in people’s lives, and discovering more and more ways to make the music of our lives.
