Is There a Crowd?

The most simple way to test your music is to look out and gauge the crowd. Or ask the question, “Is there a crowd?”

Noise is selfish. It writes its tunes in the key of “what’s in it for me.”

A true musician gets his fix on the response of his followers…i.e. what’s in it for them?

Did it move them? Did it take them somewhere? Did they experience something?

How are your ticket sales?

That’s a serious question with a serious answer.

Don’t blame your booking agent with your answer. He didn’t write your music.

Caring Even When We Don’t Need You To

Most likely I’m not going to buy your product/service/idea when we shake hands, meet, chat, or swap an email.

However, if you stick around…stick around and care like a friend…chances are you’ll see me on your caller ID one day and in need.
What’s the worst thing that can happen if you care for someone even when you’re product/service/idea is not needed? Probably that person you’re caring for telling their friend that you care(d)…and that friend just might be the one in need of your product/service/idea at the moment.
The Muse is reciprocal to your under the radar care.

Are you just going to sit there and watch…

…the story about a faux girlfriend?

…her question him about how the EPO made him peddle faster?

…people wait in line, audition, get a yellow ticket, and then audition for 3 more months?

Or are you going to make your own news?

We’re drowning in other’s stories when our own story is screaming for just one page to be turned.

It’s dim..so dim. Shine a light for us.

It Takes Two…

1) What are you saying to the world?

2) What is the world saying back to you?

To answer these two questions, we must realize two truths:

1) To answer these questions will require awareness and vulnerability.

2) Every day is an art show.
