With all things we seek to make music with and in there’s a groove.
Music, at its core, is all about congruence.
Relationships groove in the Golden Rule.
Business (and branding) grooves in kept promises.
Parenting grooves in presence.
And then there’s our lives…and the groove is found here when the eyes of the heart make their way into the world through the paths of our hands and feet. Simply put, when the exterior mirrors the interior, this is to have found congruence with our lives.
The work and the reward is in the groove leading us to congruence.

This is really quick and a bit scattered podcast, but I had to cut it while it was fresh. The quote that got it all started from a sermon I listened to late last night from Darren Rouanzoin the lead pastor at The Garden Church in Long Beach, CA. In his message, You Are An Artist, he said – “Who you aren’t isn’t interesting.” That’s a word that is going to be in my pocket for a while. Enjoy. And Godspeed in your music making.

Song Lyrics:Melody, Trees, Whimsy, Breeze by Ashton Gustafson
I rode this horse like I rode my life.
I rowed this boat like I’ve rowed my time.
I think I’m getting close.
I think I’m almost there.
I reach to the sky like a flower does
Get me a little sun, get me a little love
I think I’m getting close.
I think I’m almost there.
Hold my hand, give this head a place to rest
I’m a broken man with a soul that wants to dance
It’s the melody in the trees the whimsy in the breeze….let me breathe.
This place is quite electric if you’ll take notice.
And this electricity moves through all kinds of conductors that include: you, me, prayers, pens, tweets, help, hands, hugs, hopes, art, conversations, and so forth.
