Finding Your Swing

Watching Lefty win yesterday was quite refreshing. His score of five under baffled his fellow players. But not Phil. He found his swing. You could see it in his whole persona.

This reminded me of words from The Legend of Bagger Vance.  Inside each and every one of us is one true authentic swing… Somethin’ we was born with… Somethin’ that’s ours and ours alone… Somethin’ that can’t be taught to ya or learned… Somethin’ that’s got to be remembered… Over time the world can, rob us of that swing… It gets buried inside us under all our wouldas and couldas and shouldas… Some folks even forget what their swing was like.

Your music is found and made in your swing. And if you’re lost, your swing will guide you to your music.

Here’s the catch. None of us know how many practice swings it took Phil to hoist that trophy yesterday.

And the one guy that does know???? He’s the one holding the trophy.

Yes & No

When it’s all said and done, our lives and businesses will reflect more of what we said no to than they will what we said yes to.

If you’re going to be a moment or a meaning maker get used to befriending no.

He’s your one friend that will be at the finish line waiting for you exclaiming “yes!”

We Need You

We need you because it’s dark. We need you to shine.

We need you because meaning is faint. We need you to pull back the veil.

We need you because it’s noisy. We need you to make music of it all.

We need you because words sometimes do not do this place justice. We need you to give us a metaphor.

We need you to be on the path to find out why we need you.

Sincerely,

All of us

Waking Up In a Hotel

Discovery is the predecessor of experience, fulfillment, and meaning.

How else can you write new music without seeing a moment or something in a new way?

I don’t think you can.

I thought about this as I woke up in a hotel to speak on LTMP at a conference this morning.

While there’s no place like home, I hope you’ll leave your home each day as if you were traveling.

We point out things, smell the roses more often, and pursue discovery when we are out of our routines.

Our Muse is The Great Concierge and knows all the discoveries to get you to the experience, fulfillment, and meaning your after.

Looking for something to do? Have you asked The Concierge?

If You Know You – You Won’t Need A Map

Why do we tell ourselves what we aren’t more than we tell ourselves what we are?

While the soul itself doesn’t need a reminder, it is a healthy thing to remind the soul bearer of that which the soul already knows to be true.

We all could use more purpose and meaning reminders.

When you know who you are you then know where you’re going…and when you know where you’re going, eventually you get there.

Knowing thy self is the best thing since Google Maps to get you where you want to go.
