The Stars Have Something To Disclose

Sooner or later it really doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks, believes, says, tweets, or posts.

It’s going to come down to what do you believe? Your beliefs will determine your steps, actions, and eventually your legacy.

Did you believe what you read in the skin and bones found in your mirror this morning?

None of this stuff we’re reading or following (including this blog) online is too legit to quit or at least pause for a season so we can think on our own.

Getting lost in the stars will never be replaced by being found on or in the web.

Go outside. Look up.

Experience > Knowledge.

It’s the difference between knowing the ocean is blue and having swum the waters of Capri.

It appears that both the wholeness and holiness of our lives is found in the gap that is jumped from knowledge to experience.

What if our lives longed to live in that gap? What if our businesses bridged that gap? What if our churches embraced that gap? What if our parenting parented that gap?

They can. They all can in a moments notice.

That moment is here. That moment is today.

Provide the gateway to experience for someone and you will have done two things:

1) Blessed them with a memory. Which may be the only thing we can take with us.

2) Given them a chance to see the world in a new light. Now they can see where change is necessary.

Shoe-Swapping

Remember when…

  • the procedure wasn’t fully explained by the doc?
  • the meal wasn’t as good the press release promised and the owner did nothing?
  • the contract wasn’t fully explained?
  • the terms weren’t fully disclosed?
  • what you got wasn’t what you thought you were getting?
  • the message sent was not the message received.
  • someone over-promised and under-performed.
  • how it felt to not be served.
  • how it felt to be served.

Good business is metaphorical shoe-swapping. In other words, “what if I were them?” should be the questioning chorus of our moments.

If you have a Golden Rule fight song – cue the music.

Re___________

So you failed?? With a slight change re-do it. That’s called betterment.

You broke it? Repair it. That’s mending.

You found it broken? Repair it. That’s remedying.

Rewrite.

Replay.

Re-think yesterday and then re-start today.

Reboot.

Recall what it was like to be in their shoes.

We remember those that did and failed, and did and failed, and failed, and failed, and did and re________’d things.

It’s not a question of will you need to re________ something, but how often will you have to and are you willing to re________ it?

The one and done’s are nowhere to be found and your dream is just on the other side the re_______ing of something.

Alas, failure is the romance of success.

What’s Close By?

Its been said that you’re a collected image of the 5 people you spend the most time with. So the question is should those relationships come closer or should there be space made for other/better relationships to thrive?

Its been said that the mouth is the overflow of the heart. So the question is what words are being watered in the garden that beats in your chest?

Its been said that attitude is everything. So the question is are you living within attitudes to produce possibility or are you throwing yourself a pity party for one?

3 things to monitor the nearness of: your friends, your words, and your attitudes.

We are a byproduct of our proximity to such things and your humming typically gives us access to the last song you experienced.
