B.E.A.Utiful

“When you love something like reading — or drawing or music or nature — it surrounds you with a sense of connection to something great. If you are lucky enough to know this, then your search for meaning involves whatever that Something is. It’s an alchemical blend of affinity and focus that takes us to a place within that feels as close as we ever get to “home.” It’s like pulling into our own train station after a long trip — joy, relief, a pleasant exhaustion.

If a writer or artist creates from a place of truth and spirit and generosity, then I may be able to enter and ride this person’s train back to my own station. It’s the same with beautiful music and art.

Beauty is meaning.” Anne Lamott

Thank you Anne.

The Dots

Yes, you will need to and should be connecting some dots. Be on the move.

More dots than you will ever realize will be connected for you and/or on your behalf. Be grateful.

And some just show up, hang around, and await your connecting or introduction from another. Be on the lookout.

The more dots I look for and become aware of, the more connections I tend to make.

We put the alphabet in a certain order to make it a pop song for children before they enter the school systems.

That’s one way to sing it.

We accept all forms of payment…

…at some point.

Maybe you could pay someone with some help?

Or maybe they could pay you with some insight?

What about encouragement? This is one of the finest and rarest currencies available today…impossible for a check to bounce here.

And then there’s trust, friendship, hope, grace, and love.

Strapped for cash?

Check your wallet for some humanity.

It’s in there.

Even though few are teaching us it’s in there…it’s in there.

You just need to remember to use it.

Insight > Information

When availability of data explodes and information overload becomes the norm, it is insight that we need and long for.

That time has come.

Don’t tell us what you’ve read…tell us what you’re seeing between the lines.

Don’t tell us what you’ve heard…share with us the beat, the tempo, and the rhymes of the song that is ringing in your ears.

Don’t tell us what the guy in the cubicle next to you found…share with us the feeling you’ve found in your gut.

Leadership in the days ahead will belong to the onion peelers, the sheet puller backers, and the insight pirates of the information ocean(s).

Ahoy.
