Your Job

I jotted down a list of artists today that have moved me recently…and one from 20 years ago….see below.

Grant Achatz – Artist

Jimmy Fallon – Artist

Jeff Koons – Artist

Mrs. Collins – Artist (my 6th grade math teacher)

Aaron Franklin – Artist

Ryan O’Neal – Artist

Lin-Manuel Miranda – Artist

Your job is to make sure your name is on such a list of those you are looking to reach and lead.

You do this by giving gifts that help allow the world to taste, see, and hear what would not have been tasted, seen, or heard without you.

Ineffective effectiveness

Palker J. Palmer teaches that the “the tighter we cling to effectiveness the smaller and smaller the tasks we will take on”.

In other words, you can’t white-knuckle happenstance, whimsy, change, and possibility.

Thank you, Parker.

We needed this brought to our attention.

The Space Between (Part 2).

The space between creativity and something new being crafted is me.

The space between me and you is compassion.

The space between compassion and awareness is empathy.

The space between empathy and action is love.

And that is the space that changes the world.

I’ve connected quite a few dots since Part 1.

Staying Curious…

When you stay curious you waltz on both sides of the line of satisfaction.

Wonder takes your feet across the line and wonder brings your feet back across again….only to repeat in the next stanza.

New flavor.

New sights.

New sounds.

New joy.

And constant ‘aha’.

This is why you stay curious.
