Deep and Wide

What if enrichment became one of the gauges you measured success with?

What about the possibility of taking what you do, create, or provide and truly enriching lives with it?

Product and service longevity is a worthy goal, but let us not forget to monitor the depth and width of enrichment for the one’s it was created for.

Just how deep and wide can you make your music?

Answer that and demand will always exceed supply.

The Entrepreneur’s Job Description

Normally, the entrepreneur’s job description, we think, is to invent, create, dream up, execute, and take risk.

It may look like these things from the outside – but truly, now more than ever, his or her job is to obsess over finding new ways to create value in, through, and for the product/service.

The marketplace will always pay up to the value it sees and believes is there.

So while your invention, dream, and new risk may be fun, eclectic, interesting, and even worth talking about – you must never forget about its value.

An entrepreneur creates value. Period.

Did the ball move forward? Yes or no?

The question we must pose to our yesterday’s is did they get me closer to where I want to be 5 years from now?

Your joy 5 years from today hinges on what did or did not happen yesterday.

Don’t allow the small noise of today to steal from your future music.

This is not a promo to stray from the social media experience, not have fun, or not find time to relax. It’s just your friendly reminder that September 18, 2017 should not be a surprise when it gets here.

Being vs Doing

I finished a book yesterday called Love Works by Joel Manby.

Joel ends the book encouraging us to focus more on our BE goals instead of our DO goals.

I had never heard it put this way and thought it would serve well for a Monday post.

Answering the questions of who am I, what’s my purpose, and where am I headed will get you to doing what you always wanted to do.

You’ve got to BE before you can DO and you’ve got to DO before you can HAVE.

It’s easy to have a product or service. On the other hand, its a reward to have a product or service that stands for something.

Compose.

Profits are synonymous with music. They’re a byproduct of doing the right things over and over and over again.

Love is synonymous with music. It can’t be pinpointed to just one thing. It’s patient, it’s kind, it’s forgiving, it doesn’t want what it doesn’t have, it doesn’t strut, it keeps going in the end, and more.

Success is synonymous with music. It’s the byproduct of the right strategy, taken with the right measures, at the right time.

The same goes for raising a child, living your life, and, really – anything that is worth doing. Not only can it be musical, it is meant to be musical.

And here’s the thing – your road to music and your instruments may differ from mine. After all, there’s dancing at both the nightclub and the honky-tonk, right?

Chances are that “thing” you’re seeking after is some metaphorical form of music –  you just may have never heard it put this way.

Greatness in all aspects of life takes on some form of composition.

So where does one go from here?
