Who is the musician?

The musician is one who takes many things and turns them into one big lovely thing.

That one big lovely thing is the music.

The music is the experience that unfolds and the story that is written when one’s ideas, core values, and God gifting comes together, comes alive, and crescendos in the universe we exist in.

The musician asks…”How can I make my life, relationships, career, ideas, energy, and service one big lovely thing?”

A song probably is the only appropriate response to such a beautiful question.

You and Your Words

They carry us.

They build new worlds.

They can oxygenate a suffocating room and they suffocate a room that  breathes on hope.

They take us to new places.

They shine the way.

And, sometimes, they’re all we have.

You design and choose them and they will go wherever you send them.

And, in the end, our worlds reflect our words.

So before you say it, type it, text it, or even repeat it…think about what type of world you want to live in.

Surrender.

If you see the world as a war zone, surrendering will typically create a sense of loss and failure in you. All bets are off when we’re living to avoid defeat and shame will always invite his little sister, misery. Why would you surrender in something you could still jujitsu yourself out of?

However, if you see the world as a symphony, surrendering will create a sense of openness and possibility in you. You’re now surrendering to the flow of what’s good and true and everything here becomes much lighter and much brighter.

Surrender. Step into it don’t fight it.

Wisdom and her hint dropping…

Song writers have at times called the art of song writing a process of ‘following the breadcrumbs’.

We should probably take the same approach with the wisdom we long to experience and author our lives with.
