Light…

…doesn’t boast.

…reveals the essence of the matter it touches.

…often isn’t noticed until it’s missing.

…warms.

…illuminates.

… is you.

…is me.

…is us.

You can choose to be love or you can choose to be light.

Choose one and you’ll be both.

Stay true.

There’s a song in you. A holy hum. A chord struck by the divine and eternally unfolding. Learn that song and stay true to it.

There’s also a light. This light is there to warm the room you find yourself in and illuminate the path of your journey. Learn that light and stay true to it.

If you’re going to be called something by the world, why not let them call you by those things that have been calling to you all along?

Vitamin See

For those of us blessed with vision, so much of our experiences in life hinges in our eyes.

If you want to be a skeptic, you will find endless reasons to be skeptical.

If you want to be a pessimist, you will find plenty to be pessimistic about.

What we see will be predicted by what we want to see and why we want to see it.

Jesus once said, “Your eyes are windows into your body. If you open your eyes wide in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar.” Matthew 6:22

Candles & Swords

We have two choices with our words.

They can be candles or they can be swords?

Sure things need to be poked, prodded, cut, challenged, and defended. And when this is done well, we can only hope that the holes left from the prodding and poking will let more light in.

Outtakes…

  • Sharp things in the dark is rarely, if ever, a good thing.
  • Just because ‘word’ is in ‘sword’ doesn’t mean that’s how we should use them.
  • If people perish with no vision, then we must first light the wick of our moments and our future with our words.
  • Where there is no sword, there’s most likely an abundance of possibility that squelches the potential of fear.
