Your Job

I jotted down a list of artists today that have moved me recently…and one from 20 years ago….see below.

Grant Achatz – Artist

Jimmy Fallon – Artist

Jeff Koons – Artist

Mrs. Collins – Artist (my 6th grade math teacher)

Aaron Franklin – Artist

Ryan O’Neal – Artist

Lin-Manuel Miranda – Artist

Your job is to make sure your name is on such a list of those you are looking to reach and lead.

You do this by giving gifts that help allow the world to taste, see, and hear what would not have been tasted, seen, or heard without you.

The Space Between (Part 2).

The space between creativity and something new being crafted is me.

The space between me and you is compassion.

The space between compassion and awareness is empathy.

The space between empathy and action is love.

And that is the space that changes the world.

I’ve connected quite a few dots since Part 1.

Happy Birthday Maya

Maya Angelou would have turned 88 today.

Many of her words often, still, speak to me.

Here’s some of them I have cherished the most.

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”

“There’s nothing quite so tragic as a young cynic, because it means the person has gone from knowing nothing to believing nothing.”

“Life loves the liver of it.”

“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”

Still going…

My readings this year have renewed my passion for seeing the unseen, finding out what has made the difference in people’s lives, and discovering more and more ways to make the music of our lives.

In case, you’re new here…this is what I’m after…http://ashtongustafson.com/ltmp

And I’m still going.

Hopefully you are too.

PS – LTMP Podcast has been such a joy. We’d love for you to join us.

Intentionality

First, set your intention.

Then…

Speak it.

Name it.

Declare it.

Write it.

Proclaim it.

Do whatever must be done for it to be set, known, seen, and held in the light.

Then be intentional.
