Celestial Fire

George Washington once said we should “Labor to keep alive in your chest that little spark of celestial fire called conscience.”

For most purposes, the world will call today the last workday of the year.

But I’m hearing 2013 whistle at us to come on, keep going, and water and grow what was sown in 2012.

Open your chest and put another log on the fire.

Words, Actions, and Music

There are some things words cannot say…we call those things actions.

There’s an aftermath that occurs when actions are taken because of one’s values…we call that aftermath the music.

Your music speaks where words fail and shows what actions cannot.

Music is your holy to-do.

A Compass Called “Better”

The hope is that you, your widget, your idea, and your purpose gets better each day.

For some, 365 days of better gets them to being the best.

For others it’s 10,000 hours of better that gets them to being the best.

If you’re goal is to be the best, but you’re lacking a compass – just point at better. Better today coupled with compound interest tomorrow will get you to best.

Einstein struck gold with his thoughts on compound interest. “Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it…he who doesn’t…pays it.”

Eventually, though, the legends of “best” start a new flow. It goes – best, better than that, best again, better than that, best again, better than that, and so forth.

How’s your game?

How’s your magic?

How’s your purpose?

How’s your hustle?

If you think it’s the best I can only hope you can see it becoming better.

The Further In The Game I Get…

The more I pray for awareness.

It is:

  • the inception of imagination.
  • the one who takes notice of the shadows.
  • the connection of seeing how things truly are as opposed to seeing them as I see them or want to see them.
  • the birthplace of action and her urgency.
  • the code cracker.
  • what chooses the response from a stimulus.
  • what got me here (good or bad) and what will get me to the next stop (good or bad).

Eyes wide open, I sure have missed a lot.
