…we can scare away the dark.” Passenger
What a concept.
Couple this with finding your music and now we have some sound to dance with as we light up.
A healthy soul has a jukebox feel.

Therein lies the formula of leadership today.
That roundabout place where humility says, together, let’s hold hands and figure it out.
We can all use more “let’s” in our lives.
After all, harmony can’t happen on its own.
So you didn’t read Dr. Seuss last night to your child when you had the chance to? What if last night’s magic may not be there tonight? Sure, you are 35 years old for 12 months, but a child is only 3 years and 331 days old for a day.
The candles glow on the dinner table with just enough light to illuminate the table and the faces that surround it. Inch tall flames dance so we may experience and take in this ancient tradition all the while they’re whispering to us, “be here”. Magic. And then the magic of the flame is robbed by screens with faces lit by check-ins, status updates, pins, and tweets all in the name of heart-shaped like buttons.
Gratitude has its longevity, but the beauty of its weight is felt and found immediately when it is initially laid upon us. Take the magic that gratitude offers today…no, take it now. Find some paper, write the note, seal it, stamp it, and drop it in the mail. Your words won’t know if they’re on cardstock or scrap paper. The magic is in the inked writing, not the paper. Who needs to know that you have breathed easier because of them?
What has you inspired, fired up, and focused today may not have the same magic tomorrow. Inspiration funds our moments that are to produce a future that excites us. Magic today is for today and tomorrow’s magic will have its own new name and face for you as well.
Carpe diem, carpe magic.
Yes, you will need to and should be connecting some dots. Be on the move.
More dots than you will ever realize will be connected for you and/or on your behalf. Be grateful.
And some just show up, hang around, and await your connecting or introduction from another. Be on the lookout.
The more dots I look for and become aware of, the more connections I tend to make.
We put the alphabet in a certain order to make it a pop song for children before they enter the school systems.
That’s one way to sing it.
Who doesn’t love a great story?
In 2010, I read Donald Miller’s A Million Miles in a Thousand Years and was forever changed.
Finding the concept of story and living a life with meaning and purpose (like a story) was enough to take my life, relationships, and businesses to a whole new level. My wife and I even named our first child Story.
Moving on…
Grand stories are made up of small, easily over-looked stories. The call, the note, the joke, the stranger, the friend, the enemy, the meal, the travel, the action, the reaction, the response, and repetition of it all can be forgettable. The beat of life, relationships, and businesses goes and then and then and then and then…
And then there was today and then there will be tomorrow.
To create a life and a career that are out of the ordinary, we must continually create unforgettable moments and stories that normally would be missed or overlooked.
