Proximity & the Factor of 5

The last five books you’ve read will write the prescription for your next pair of glasses.

You are the average of your five closest friends.

The last five songs you’ve heard will be what you’ll be whistling.

Awareness of such proximity is the great predictor of the people, paths, and melodies that will write the soundtrack of our stories.

A Tale of Two Hearts

Childish:

Jaded, cynical, & emotionally unbalanced. Keeps the score of everyone else, but keeps no records of personal fouls or mishaps. Always asks, “What about the score?”

Childlike:

Surprised, delighted, excited, & wonderfully wonder-filled. Rarely earns points, but rarely thirsts for a scorecard. Surprisingly asks, “Points? What points?”

The seekers are the finders…and the finders (and they all find something) will walk this journey to the reflecting beat of the music that is beating in their chest.

Sunrise. Sunset. Hand on your heart.

Numerous Ways to Talk About Learning, Writing, Experience, Response, Meaning, & Clarity.

When words and ideas enter your eyes and then get hidden in your heart, your thoughts, feelings, and actions will eventually change from such exposure.

Grow your capacity so you can hold more of your next experience.

When you open yourself to take something in and then give yourself time to reflect on it, you will -eventually- have a living/breathing response.

When you read and then you write, eventually it all all starts to add up.

Readers are writers. Writers are readers. Reading writers, eventually, fully experience the depths and heights of all of their experiences.

Red Carpet

That’s what gratitude is. It’s the red carpet.

It’s the path rolled out for us so that we can walk wide-eyed, ear-tuned, and grounded, but with elevated senses towards all of the eclecticism that so beautifully surrounds us.

Oh, and you can’t forget this red carpet is padded with humility and bound by grace. It questions, “can you believe this?” and responds with a speechless, undeserving acknowledgement of the ungraspable.

When you know you’re on a path, you sure can take a lot more in.

Look around. Prepare the way.
