Illusion and Reality.

It’s hard to know the difference between illusion and reality in the moment.

The email, the text, the look, the silence, the noise, and the emotion all become personal narrative based on our kaleidoscope of previous narratives that we have lived, experienced, or told ourselves.

Only when we can accept the moment for what it is will we be able to know the moment for what it is.

And to know a moment is to know its possibility.

This is nothing new, right? “Be still, and know….”.

It’s true.

Our stillness is the great predecessor to our knowing.

Developing this sixth sense for knowing the moment is the muscle memory of those that graciously lead us into both our present moments and our tomorrows that are pregnant with beauty.

We can’t midwife beauty for the world until we learn to penetrate illusion and touch reality.

Once you touch it you can know it.

Once you know it you can show it.

And by showing it you’ll be sharing it.

Peace out…

…won’t be possible without allowing some peace in.

So we must choose how we will see and posture ourselves today.

For how we see is how we will be.

Yes, the eye is indeed the lamp of the body.

Every Sunday we hold a picture that was first stroked with the paint from Monday’s eyes.

Are you open or are you closed today?

This will affect your painting today and tomorrow.

For if we are closed, we will paint with the stumbling colors of cynicism, critique, and separation.

But if we are open, we will paint with the flowing colors of possibility, hope, and healing.

I’ve never seen the word pain hidden in the word paint until today.

A Beginner’s Mind

Remember when you first came to know and experience something, some place, or someone new?

It was all about learning their borders, nuances, and idiosyncrasies.

Learning was enough.

And while your questions here may have led you to some answers, you were always led to another series of questions to open you up into the unique and vast beauty of this person, place, or thing.

Together you became something. Something that had never been before prior to this relationship of experience, awareness, and connection.

The end was never “in mind”.

The thrill was at hand and in the now.

Oh how we need our cup to overflow with never-ending beginnings.
