I thought this was a pretty special outlook into consciousness, ups and downs, what counts, success, and one’s journey into coming to know his Whitman.

Perspective.
On any given day how many silver bullets are you sold?
Thousands.
And they come in many forms: hamburgers, insurance, cars, movies, endless services, jewelry, Lap-Bands, and so on. All promises to make the frustrated you a more satisfied you.
Better question, what needs to be taken off of your plate?
The frustration remedy is more often than not more and more or less and less.
Whatever you do with your definition of success make sure you define it for yourself.
Don’t have it defined for you.
Own your ambitions.
Don’t borrow them.
Regret has a full stomach and an empty soul.
One’s writing reflects one’s reading.
Opinions will align with those nearby.
What the person next to you points out, you’ll see.
Mark Twain said it best, “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it does rhyme.”
And so do we with our geographical metaphors.
Check your surroundings.
