Organic

The heartbeat of the organic movement isn’t a new trendy idea.

The heart beat is just that…a move back to the heart of the matter and back to the beat that made the music possible in the first place. In other words, it’s a waltz back to our origins.

The proverbial cat is out of the bag and there’s only one party to blame – tampering.

So when it comes to all things: people, relationships, businesses, and, yes, even our foods, we are finding it’s best to let things happen as they may.

We shouldn’t be shocked that wheat without fertilizer taste better. But for some reason, we’ll trade flavor for more in most spaces.

And we shouldn’t be surprised when our relationships bloom with more color and aroma in native, natural soil with wind rain rather than moment to moment ‘miracle-gro’ at mentions and retweets.

Alas, “can we be friends?” may just be the only business model necessary in a world currently powered by spampaigns.

Have you ever noticed what the first two letters of best spells?

Going Big.

Time stood still for me today with a quote I heard from the great Dr. Parker J. Palmer.

He said, “As long as we are wedded to “effectiveness” we will take on smaller and smaller tasks, for they are the only ones with which we can get results.”

Here’s a HUGE question for all of us. Is effectiveness your drug of choice?

If so, be careful.

It’s a short buzz with a small ending and the only fix is another hit of the same scenario.

PS – Last week I released a podcast that has struck a chord with many of our listeners entitled “Ludicrously Happy”. You can listen to it here. It was a short riff off of a poem from Rumi and it may help you connect some dots with growing your capacity, increasing your awareness, and living out the difficult and necessary paths for a great-big-lovely story.

Your Human Thumbprint > Your Digital Footprint

Have you ever received a thank you note for a retweet? Not likely.

Has anyone ever told you that you clicking a like button changed them? Probably not.

But do you remember a time when someone told you something they see in you? If so, I would bet that you replay that moment quite often in your head.

Can you picture the face of someone that has done something for you that you could never do for them? If so, they’re probably registered in your memory bank under the label ‘hero’.

The digital world is wonderful and a world without geographic barriers is extraordinary, but it’s moving at the speed of light and can be hard to catch your breath and take it all in. It’s here in a flash and scrolled over in sixty seconds.

And then there’s the art of being human…the surrendering from the rat race so we can waltz back to how things are, and actually, how they’ve always been. And that opportunity to lead, connect, and change someone is here today and stays with you and us forever.

You and Your Words

They carry us.

They build new worlds.

They can oxygenate a suffocating room and they suffocate a room that  breathes on hope.

They take us to new places.

They shine the way.

And, sometimes, they’re all we have.

You design and choose them and they will go wherever you send them.

And, in the end, our worlds reflect our words.

So before you say it, type it, text it, or even repeat it…think about what type of world you want to live in.
