Put it down, flip it, and reverse it.

Contribution is the new consumption.

This backwards reality is the opposite of what we’ve been taught, and yet the leaders of tomorrow – in any field – are starting to understand and see this as the way.

Once you’ve poured something out only then will you have made room to soak something in.

Yes, to get it right, we’re going to have to get it backwards.

Book:

This week’s book is Victor Frankl’s, Man’s Search for Meaning. A classic book that seems to always speak to me at every season of life.

Song: Stargazer by Ashton Gustafson

This week’s song and benediction is a song that I wrote a couple of years back.

As you approach this week, may you pause by the orchid. Listen to the bluebird sing. And be love.

Marbling

Walk with me here.

Take 5 globs of different colored play-doh.

And let’s name them the colors of health, relationships, passion, growth, and contribution.

Now take those five colors and roll them into the shape of a ball.

Notice the marbling?

You’re staring at the ideal metaphor of what you want your days to look and feel like.

Four words: now go do that.

NOise.

No.

That’s the root word of noise.

Which leads me to believe that noise is the sound of no.

Noise is what no sounds like.

Noise happens when the tempo of life doesn’t match the rhythm in our chest.

And no is the only thing fear knows to say.

No is the anthem, ballad, chorus, melody, and crescendo of fear.

We don’t necessarily choose to make or offer noise to the world on purpose, but it will be our offering if we don’t first acknowledge and say yes to the light inside of us, our holy hum, and our forever struck chords.

I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to ever take back a yes.
