This week can we…

…speak with light and love?

…celebrate the success of another?

…earn our 10,000 hours?

…become a redemptive presence in our relationships, careers, and lives?

…ask greater questions?

…be ok with greater mystery?

…not fight the current of process?

…enjoy the process?

…love an enemy?

…forgive an enemy?

…dare to be seen?

Will you join me and 20 friends this June in Waco, TX?

Greetings!

I hope this finds you and yours doing well!

I wanted to invite you to a gathering I’ll be hosting at my home in Waco, TX this June 16-17.

Our focus for this gathering is going to be on the Enneagram. Never heard of the Enneagram? No worries…we still want you to join us!

In short, the Enneagram helps us to see ourselves at a deeper, more objective level and can be of invaluable assistance on our path to self-knowledge.

About a year ago I started to study and use the Enneagram as a tool for my life, relationships, and businesses….it’s been a total game changer.

We are limiting this gathering to 20 people and we are going to be joined by Chris Heuertz, one the of nation’s leading voices in the Enneagram space. You can find all of the information on this event at http://ashtongustafson.com/enneagram.

We hope you’ll come join us in Texas!

Cheers,

Ashton

Practice and Polish

Empathy — One must make himself available available to understand and share the feelings of another. Here there’s no goal. There’s simply honor. Honore to be human and be with another human. Are you available for just you or others as well?

Tone — In the background surrounding everything you touch there’s a song at play. This song also projects itself into what and how you see.  Take note of what you hear as you plate a meal for your child, as you respond to and endless supply of emails, as you curate your craft, and as you navigate your one precious life. In short, this is the sound of the space you take up in the heart and minds of the world you interact with. Does your tone hurt or heal the world you’ve been entrusted?

Humility — Leggo your ego. Capiche?

Delivery —- Nearly everything we communicate is a story. Are you a good story teller? Better question…Are the stories you’re telling true?

Practice these.

Polish them.

Only then will possibility be in position to surprise and delight and you.

Podcast 53: A Conversation with Beth Winterburn

NYC (1)

Beth Winterburn’s work is characterized by bold, gestural brush strokes and minimalist detail. As a nod to her analytical roots in photography and architecture, she approaches each piece with a mathematical mindset – counting evens and odds, balancing lights and darks, visually “slicing” the composition into thirds and fifths. She approaches her work as if it’s a problem to solve: combining and contrasting elements with and against one another to create a cohesive yet dynamic piece. Beth’s work is an exploration of contrast, tension and resolve. Methodical by nature, she challenges her own ideas of control by experimenting with materials, allowing them to behave as they naturally would, with subtle direction. Each canvas, piece of paper or panel is an invitation to engage – to feel, to react, to explore the tension and resolve of each and every element and property used to build it.

Beth joins us in Episode 53 at Let the Music Play Podcast as we discuss her processes, the why behind her work, and the journey of crafting a career through a medium she enjoys and is passionate about.

Below is a glimpse into her work! And click here to view her online store!
